Riftbound: Origins Booster Box – What’s Inside

League of Legends is one of the biggest games on the planet. Millions of players, endless lore, characters with god-tier drip, and enough memes to fuel an entire Reddit multiverse. It was only a matter of time before someone looked at all that and went, “Yeah, this needs to be a card game.”

Enter Riftbound.

Riot Games finally made the move, and they didn’t do it alone. They teamed up with UVS Games, a name that already has a solid rep in the card game world. These are the same folks who’ve given us a bunch of killer anime-inspired TCGs like My Hero Academia: CCG, and now they’re bringing that same passion and polish to Riftbound — but make no mistake, this ain’t a re-skin.

Riftbound plays totally different from UVS’s usual formula. Riot’s got its fingerprints all over the game design, and UVS is taking care of getting it into stores, shipping it worldwide, and making sure your local game shop has it on Day One.

And today, we’re talking specifically about the Riftbound: Origins Booster Box — aka the box every League fan should probably be pre-ordering yesterday.

What’s in the Riftbound: Origins Booster Box?

The Booster Display is set to drop in October 2025 (earlier in China though), and each box comes with:

  • 🧊 24 booster packs
  • ✨ Each pack includes:
    • 7 Common cards
    • 3 Uncommon cards
    • 3 Foil cards (yep, every pack has 3 foils!)
    • 1 Token slot (can be tokens, maybe special cards later on…)

That’s a total of 336 cards per display box, and yeah — you’re gonna get a good spread.

But here’s where it gets juicy: roughly 6 Epic-rarity cards per box on average. That’s one in every 4 packs. And there are even alt-art cards that only show up once per case — so like, 1 in every 6 boxes. You probably won’t pull one of those in your first box… but if you do? GGs. You just high-rolled.

Here’s a breakdown of the math (assuming 24 packs per box, and industry-standard TCG pull rates):

Rarity Pull Rate (per pack) Expected per Box
Common 7 168
Uncommon 3 72
Foil (any rarity) 3 72
Epic (high rarity) ~1 every 4 packs ~6 per box
Alt-Art Special 1 per 6 boxes (est.) ~0.17 per box

So yeah, every box is gonna give you a little dopamine hit every few packs.

League Fans, This One’s For You

Some of the early preview images already have the community buzzing. The Jinx card looks absolutely wild and captures her chaotic, explosive vibe. Every champion in this set feels like they were treated with respect — like Riot really wanted fans to feel their personalities through the art and mechanics.

The “Origins” set is gonna feature over 300 cards with champions like:

  • Jinx
  • Lux
  • Garen
  • Viktor
  • Annie, Master Yi, Yasuo, Volibear… and more.

Every one of them has mechanics that feel like their League counterparts. Jinx goes fast and blows stuff up. Viktor builds and buffs and outsmarts. Lee Sin has these sick combo chains that hit like a freight train if you play ‘em right.

A Peek at the Mechanics

The game mixes tactical combat with classic TCG strategy. You’ve got:

  • Units – Basic troops that do your bidding.
  • Champion cards – Superpowered leaders with unique effects.
  • Spells, Gear, and Runes – Buffs, attacks, and modifiers to mess with the battlefield.
  • Battlegrounds – These change the game rules and vibe mid-fight.

It even supports multiple formats: 1v1 for classic duels, 2v2 for team tactics, and even full-on free-for-alls. That last one? Could be pure chaos in the best way.

What I like is that Riftbound is clearly made for both hardcore players and casual fans. It’s easy enough to pick up with a starter deck, but it’s also got room for actual skill expression. Deckbuilding, timing, bluffing — it’s not just “who has the rarest card,” it’s “who played it smarter.”

Why I’m Hyped

Look, I’ve played League since Season 3. I’ve seen Riot go from “that game with bad servers” to literally changing how the world sees esports. So yeah, when they launch a card game? I’m paying attention.

And when that card game looks this good, plays this smart, and gives me a chance to slap my friends around with a shiny Lux foil? I’m in.

If you’re a League fan, this booster box is basically a celebration of everything you love — the champions, the art, the flex, the strategy, all of it.

And if you’re a TCG nerd who doesn’t play League? This might still be your next obsession. The structure, polish, and sheer care going into Riftbound is already leagues (pun intended) ahead of most new TCGs.

The Riftbound: Origins Booster Box is not just some throwaway licensed product. It’s a real-deal, collectible, competitive-ready, hype-generating machine. UVS and Riot clearly know what they’re doing, and it shows.

So if you’re even mildly interested in card games, anime art, or you’ve ever tilted off the face of the earth because your ADC walked into a bush — do yourself a favor and pre-order this thing, here’s the link – Riftbound TCG (League of Legends) Set 1 – Origins – Booster Display
