Noxus Hopeful from Riftbound: League of Legends TCG

Noxus Hopeful
Spread the love

Riftbound Preview Season just introduced a smart curve filler with Noxus Hopeful, a 4-drop that rewards you for playing follow-up units.

In a format where every extra play counts, this card gives you a discount for stacking your turn, making it a solid piece in any midrange or aggressive Noxus shell.

Gameplay / Cool Mechanics

Noxus Hopeful is a 4-cost, 4-power Unit with the Legion keyword:

Legion — I cost 2 less. (Get the effect if you’ve played another card this turn.)

If you drop this as your second play—say, after a 2-drop or a spell—you can play it for just two mana. A 2-cost 4/4 on turn four is above rate and puts immediate pressure on your opponent.

Even if you can’t trigger the discount, the base stats are respectable for a vanilla body that fits the curve. In decks built around multiple plays per turn—accelerate units, cheap spells, or bounce mechanics—Noxus Hopeful becomes a repeatable tempo punch.

It also doubles as a surprise blocker when drawn late, since any 4/4 body in an aggro shell demands removal.

Visuals

The art frames Noxus Hopeful as a disciplined soldier amidst advancing legionnaires. Clad in battered armor, he strides forward with spear in hand, eyes fixed on an unseen enemy.

The warm, dusty backdrop hints at a dawn skirmish—dust kicked up by marching ranks. Sunlight glints off his helmet, emphasizing the resolve behind his visor.

In the background, dozens of red-cloaked troops march in lockstep, underscoring the Legion theme: strength in numbers, momentum in unity.

Pull Rate & Value Speculation

  • Set Code: OGN

  • Card Number: 012/298

  • Rarity: Likely Uncommon

  • Foil Version: Included in all Origins booster packs

  • Alt Art / Overnumbered: None revealed yet

Noxus Hopeful isn’t a marquee chase piece, but its discount effect makes it a sleeper in aggressive midrange lists. Collectors who enjoy solid playables with evocative art will appreciate foil versions, especially if Legion mechanics become a core pillar of top-tier decks.

Watch for foil pull demand from players fine-tuning curve-centric red decks.

Noxus Hopeful nails the “follow-up play” role: it rewards you for loading your turn with an oversized body at reduced cost. In a set all about tempo and battlefield control, this soldier hits the mark.
