Legion Rearguard from Riftbound: League of Legends TCG

Legion Rearguard
Spread the love

Noxus’s infantry just got a textbook upgrade with Legion Rearguard, a 2-drop that doubles as an early blocker and tempo play.

In a set where raw aggression and swift strikes dominate, this unit lets you hold the line—or pressure the board—right from turn two.

Gameplay / Cool Mechanics

Legion Rearguard is a 2-cost, 2-power Unit with Accelerate:

Accelerate (You may pay 1 red as an additional cost to have me enter ready.)

On curve, it’s a solid 2/2 body. But for three red mana, it skips summoning fatigue and attacks immediately. That flexibility makes Rearguard perfect for reactive red builds that care about early pressure or surprise trades.

It also slots seamlessly into midrange decks that want to stretch their tempo options—drop a fortified blocker on turn two, or curve out into a turn-two swing if you need to seize initiative. In a game all about battlefield rotation, Legion Rearguard gives you the choice of defense or offense on demand.

Visuals

The artwork captures a ragged Noxian soldier in the final moments before impact. Backlit by a fiery sky, his armor is scarred, his shovel-axe raised for one last strike. Behind him, silhouettes of Trifaritan comrades advance through smoke and flame, framing him as the literal rear guard that stands firm while others push forward.

The warm, burnt-orange palette underscores Noxus’s trademark brutality—no cleanliness or honor here, just survival and victory by any means.

Pull Rate & Value Speculation

  • Set Code: OGN

  • Card Number: 010/298

  • Rarity: Likely Common or Uncommon

  • Foil Version: Included in all Origins booster packs

  • Alt Art / Overnumbered: Not revealed yet

As an early accelerate reveal, Legion Rearguard isn’t a marquee chase card—but look for it to show up in any aggressive Noxus list. Its foil version will shine in binders, especially against the backdrop of smoky reds and ember glows.

If red aggro or midrange decks take off in Preview Season, demand for solid curve-filler units like this could climb.

Legion Rearguard does exactly what you expect—and exactly when you need it. A dependable body that can flip between blocker and attacker, it earns its keep in any red deck.

It’s simple, effective, and distinctly Noxian: relentless.
