Icathian Rain from Riftbound TCG

This is the kind of spell that doesn’t just kill—it disassembles. Icathian Rain is Kai’Sa’s signature, and in Riftbound TCG, it’s a rare example of a high-cost red spell that doesn’t hinge on overkill or flashy single-target burns.

It’s surgical. Controlled. Ruthless. And it absolutely destroys go-wide boards.

Gameplay / Cool Mechanics

Icathian Rain costs 7 and hits like a math problem with a gun. You “do this 6 times”: deal 2 to a unit. That’s twelve total damage, but you can split it. Delete six weaklings, or surgically remove two 6-health tanks.

If you’ve got spell-cost reducers or access to Kai’Sa’s Daughter of the Void, this becomes even scarier—since that card feeds spell mana with no way to interact.

This isn’t your typical red-board wipe either. It doesn’t hit randomly, it doesn’t splash. You choose the targets. And that makes Icathian Rain a scalpel, not a hammer.

It thrives in mid-to-late turns when the opponent thinks they’ve safely stabilized with three or four blockers. This card says: actually, no. Your board is now dust.

It also plays insanely well in tempo-control hybrid decks. If you need to catch up while keeping your own field safe, Icathian Rain offers that tempo swing without punishing your own board.

It’s clean removal disguised as storm.

Visuals

The art goes all in on motion. Kai’Sa is leaping toward the viewer, angled from above like you’re her next target.

Her wings bloom with purple Void energy, shards flying around her in the chaotic swirl of motion blur. It’s a moment caught mid-slaughter, the split-second when precision becomes violence.

The deep pinks and purples sell that eerie energy signature, making the spell feel alien and surgical all at once.

Pull Rate & Value Speculation

This one’s marked 248/298, tagged as a Signature Spell for Kai’Sa, and that’s already meaningful. Signature Spells are rarely bulk—especially ones this versatile.

Red spell-focused decks will want it, Void decks want it for flavor and synergy, and collectors want it because it’s Kai’Sa.

As of now, no foil or alt art version has been confirmed, but the positioning as a Signature makes it a strong contender for a premium variant or overnumbered edition.

If Riftbound introduces spell-based win cons in future sets, Icathian Rain could age like wine. It’s efficient, flexible, and faction-defining.

Icathian Rain is the kind of late-game nuke you build around, not just toss in. It demands respect, and when it resolves, it clears more than just the board—it clears momentum.

A card for players who like their kills clean, fast, and intentional.
