Deadbloom Predator is a newly revealed booster-exclusive unit card from Riftbound TCG: Set 1 – Origins, Riot’s first physical card game set in the League of Legends universe.
And while this isn’t a flashy Champion or Signature Spell, make no mistake — this is the kind of card that ruins lives quietly and leaves your board haunted.
Riftbound is already showing it’s not just a fan-service card game — cards like this prove there’s some real meat for players who like grindy, slow-burn control decks and high-impact finishers with a nasty twist.
Origins
The Shadow Isles are Runeterra’s ghost-infested region, known for death loops, graveyard recursion, and everything dark and decayed. And the Deadbloom Predator fits that flavor perfectly. This beast isn’t tied to any specific League champion — instead, it seems to represent the kinds of spirits that roam the Isles, feeding on the souls of the unfulfilled.
The flavor text hits hard:
“The souls of those who died unfulfilled coalesce into a form to sate those hungers.”
It’s not elegant. It’s not flashy. It just exists to eat — and make your opponent’s life miserable.
What This Card Actually Does
Deadbloom Predator costs a whopping 8 resources to play — but if you’re thinking “too expensive,” look again. This thing comes with Deflect:
Deflect – Opponents must pay 1 extra to choose this unit with a spell or ability.
That makes it more than just a big body — it’s hard to remove cleanly. Add to that the real killer line:
“You may play me to an occupied enemy battlefield.”
This is wild. You’re not just summoning it to your board — you can literally throw this thing onto your opponent’s side, like a time bomb or a trap that gums up their field, messes with their positioning, or even sets up for something nastier.
There’s no confirmed rule interaction yet, but anyone who plays TCGs knows what that means: jank city, population your opponent.
Illustration
The art here is nasty — in the best way possible. Green spectral glow seeps from this massive, insectoid-beast hybrid. It’s tangled in thorns, brambles, and glowing fungus. The head is bear-like but overgrown with bark, and the glowing mouth is all you need to know: this thing is not here for negotiations.
The composition sells the “lurking predator” energy. It’s low to the ground, hiding in brush, but you know it’s about to leap. The colors are classic Shadow Isles — black, green, and bio-luminescent blue. If this thing comes in foil, the glow will be next-level.
Pull Rate & Availability
Deadbloom Predator is card #161/298, which means it’s not in a Champion Deck — this is booster-only. And based on box data:
-
3 foils per pack
-
6 Epics per box
-
Alt-arts 1 per 6 boxes
This card hasn’t been confirmed as Rare or Epic, but based on cost, uniqueness, and design? It’s probably sitting in the Rare-Epic tier. Which means pulling a foil version is going to feel pretty damn good.
Value Speculation: How Much Could It Be Worth?
So, what’s this thing gonna sell for? Here’s our early prediction, based on UVS Games patterns and what we’ve seen from other Riftbound spoilers:
-
Standard version: $7–12
-
Foil: $18–25
-
Alt-art (if it exists): $40–50, especially if the art dials the creep factor up
This isn’t a hype card like Jinx or Yasuo, but it’s the kind of sleeper card that deckbuilders fall in love with. And if Shadow Isles ends up being one of the stronger factions competitively, this price jumps.
