<p data-start="42" data-end="569">There’s a reason you don’t ask where the gear came from in Piltover’s alleyways—and <em data-start="126" data-end="145">Unlicensed Armory</em> makes that clear.</p>
<p data-start="42" data-end="569">This is the kind of janky tech that looks like it shouldn’t work but somehow keeps your board alive longer than it should.</p>
<p data-start="42" data-end="569">In Riftbound’s growing Gear pool, <em data-start="321" data-end="340">Unlicensed Armory</em> is the card for players who like scraping together advantage from chaos.</p>
<p data-start="42" data-end="569">It&#8217;s cheap, scrappy, and sneaky—fitting perfectly into the kind of midrange or tempo lists that are okay with discarding a card if it means cheating death.</p>
<hr data-start="571" data-end="574" />
<h2 data-start="576" data-end="605">Gameplay / Cool Mechanics</h2>
<p data-start="607" data-end="966"><em data-start="607" data-end="626">Unlicensed Armory</em> costs 2 and requires a discard to activate its gear. But the effect is quietly massive.</p>
<p data-start="607" data-end="966">You tap it and pick a friendly unit. That unit gets a death-defying insurance policy—if it dies this turn, you can pay 1 mana to recall it to base instead, <strong data-start="871" data-end="884">exhausted</strong>.</p>
<p data-start="607" data-end="966">That’s not a move, meaning you&#8217;re not spending a slot or giving up a later play.</p>
<p data-start="968" data-end="1379">This card does a lot of subtle heavy lifting. It lets your best threat play more aggressively, lets you flip trades you shouldn’t win, and stalls out control decks banking on predictable removal math.</p>
<p data-start="968" data-end="1379">The discard cost hurts, but Riftbound’s discard synergy cards make it almost a benefit.</p>
<p data-start="968" data-end="1379">Cards like <em data-start="1268" data-end="1281">Raging Soul</em> trigger off discards, and other Shadow Isles units could be tuned to loop off that same mechanic.</p>
<p data-start="1381" data-end="1664">What makes <em data-start="1392" data-end="1411">Unlicensed Armory</em> especially spicy is the timing flexibility. It doesn’t protect across turns, which is fair, but it makes you rethink every incoming trade or board wipe.</p>
<p data-start="1381" data-end="1664">You’re forcing your opponent to overcommit just to deal with something that might come back anyway.</p>
<hr data-start="1666" data-end="1669" />
<h2 data-start="1671" data-end="1682">Visuals</h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-15224" src="https://blog.awesomedealsdeluxe.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot-2025-07-21-151224.png" alt="" width="400" height="568" srcset="https://blog.awesomedealsdeluxe.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot-2025-07-21-151224.png 400w, https://blog.awesomedealsdeluxe.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot-2025-07-21-151224-211x300.png 211w, https://blog.awesomedealsdeluxe.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot-2025-07-21-151224-20x28.png 20w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p data-start="1684" data-end="2145">The art is loud in a quiet way. A brick-and-metal cube marked with a neon target symbol feels both shady and significant.</p>
<p data-start="1684" data-end="2145">It looks makeshift but clearly dangerous, like a tech block from Zaun held together with bolts and bad decisions.</p>
<p data-start="1684" data-end="2145">Kudos Productions went with muted yellows and greens for the structure, but the painted bullseye tells you this is a last-stand device.</p>
<p data-start="1684" data-end="2145">The kind of place where weapons get recycled, or maybe just repurposed without paperwork.</p>
<hr data-start="2147" data-end="2150" />
<h2 data-start="2152" data-end="2185">Pull Rate &amp; Value Speculation</h2>
<p data-start="2187" data-end="2552">This is card <strong data-start="2200" data-end="2211">023/298</strong>, so it’s still early in the Riftbound set, and likely a <strong data-start="2268" data-end="2290">common or uncommon</strong>.</p>
<p data-start="2187" data-end="2552">No word yet on foils or alternate treatments for <em data-start="2341" data-end="2360">Unlicensed Armory</em>, but it’s exactly the kind of utility gear that ends up as a two-of in real decks.</p>
<p data-start="2187" data-end="2552">If Shadow Isles ends up leaning into discard synergies, this card will stay relevant in constructed formats.</p>
<p data-start="2554" data-end="2727">It’s probably not a chase card in sealed or draft, but you’ll be glad you have a few copies once the meta settles and people start optimizing those aggressive recall chains.</p>
<p data-start="2734" data-end="2921" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><em data-start="2734" data-end="2753">Unlicensed Armory</em> is the kind of card that rewards gutsy plays and creative deckbuilding.</p>
<p data-start="2734" data-end="2921" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">It’s not clean. It’s not elegant. But it wins scrappy games—and that’s what makes it dangerous.</p>
