City Rampage is a part of the Godzilla Challenger Series decks.
The deck dropped a while ago and ever since the release, the Godzilla fandom has been ablaze online. The cards from the deck are going for hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars, which is fairly surprising for a brand-new CCG. One of the best-selling cards is City Rampage, featuring the King of the Monsters, Godzilla, in it.
So, we decided to shed some light on the card, its illustration, and obviously its value. If that interests you, stick around!
Origins
Godzilla first stomped onto the big screen in 1954 in the Japanese film “Gojira,” directed by Ishirō Honda. The film introduced Godzilla as a massive, destructive, prehistoric sea monster awakened and empowered by nuclear radiation.
This iconic kaiju, born out of the fears and aftermath of nuclear warfare, became a symbol of nature’s wrath and humanity’s folly. Godzilla has since become a beloved character, starring in numerous films, television shows, and comics.
Trivia
Here’s a fun fact about Godzilla’s city rampages: whenever Godzilla enters a city, chaos and destruction follow, with skyscrapers crumbling and streets becoming unrecognizable.
The sheer scale of his rampage often leads to catastrophic damage, but interestingly, in some of the more light-hearted Godzilla films, he’s shown to be somewhat mindful of people, causing fewer direct fatalities than you might expect for a giant, city-stomping lizard.
Illustration
The card illustration is truly epic! It captures Godzilla mid-rampage, surrounded by the chaos he’s known for. The background is ablaze with fiery destruction, showing buildings crumbling and smoke billowing. Godzilla himself is depicted with a fierce expression, his powerful body ready to unleash more devastation.
The colors are vivid and dramatic, perfectly capturing the intensity of a Godzilla city rampage. It’s a piece of art that any Godzilla fan would love to have in their collection.
Value
The City Rampage card is currently valued at $10. That’s a pretty reasonable price for a card featuring such an iconic character and fantastic artwork. Considering the high demand for Godzilla-themed CCG cards, this price might rise in the future, making it a smart buy for collectors and fans alike. If you’re looking to add a bit of kaiju chaos to your collection, this card is definitely worth considering.
