Siphon Power from Riftbound TCG

Siphon Power
Spread the love

Riftbound’s tempo tools just got a serious upgrade with Siphon Power, a slick 2-cost Reaction spell that feels tailor-made for swing turns and tight combat math.

As Viktor’s signature spell, it’s the kind of card that doesn’t ask for your permission to be good—it just is.

In a game that values battlefield control and reactive timing, Siphon Power is exactly the type of tech you stash in hand until your opponent thinks they’ve figured you out.

Gameplay / Cool Mechanics

Siphon Power lets you choose a battlefield and boost your friendly units there by +1 Power while simultaneously sapping enemy units for -1 Power, down to a minimum of 1.

That’s a four-point swing per combat per pair of units, and in a crowded lane, the value just multiplies.

Importantly, it’s a Reaction card, meaning you can play it at nearly any time—even before other spells or abilities resolve.

This opens up clutch plays like neutralizing burst damage or sneaking a lethal past defenders with sudden math shifts.

This spell absolutely punishes overextension. Your opponent fills a board expecting to trade evenly? Drop Siphon Power and suddenly they’re behind on every front.

It shines hardest in decks that spam low-cost units or create tokens—think Viktor’s Recruit unit tokens or similar swarm setups.

If you’re the kind of player who likes rewarding decision-making and high-skill ceilings, this one’s for you.

Visuals

Siphon Power’s art sells the exact moment when raw energy shifts sides.

A radiant orb of white-blue power pulses in the center, surrounded by fragmented, angular shapes that suggest both containment and release.

It’s like a magical reactor going critical, framed in motion with curved blue streams spiraling around.

The high-contrast composition captures that moment of arcane redirection, where power doesn’t just hit—it gets stolen.

Pull Rate & Value Speculation

This is card 266/298, a signature spell with mid-pack numbering, but don’t let that fool you—it’s one of those cards that could quietly become a meta staple.

Especially if blue-control or token swarm archetypes take off, Siphon Power will be a must-have.

If it ends up getting a foil or alternate art in any of the Collector Bundles or Event Packs, expect prices to tick up.

No overnumbered variant has been confirmed yet, but the art and versatility would make it a prime candidate.

Siphon Power is a control player’s dream and a tempo nightmare for anyone on the wrong side of the battlefield.

Reactive, flexible, and deadly in skilled hands.

If you’re building around Viktor or just like flipping the board with a single card—this one’s worth keeping your eyes on.
