Every set needs a mid-tier beatstick that turns heads, and Petty Officer from Riftbound: League of Legends TCG punches into that role with a grin and a blade.

Revealed during Preview Season as part of Bilgewater’s arsenal, this 5-cost, 5-power, 5-health Unit doesn’t waste time asking for synergy—it just brawls. It’s pure Bilgewater: loud, reckless, and ready to rumble.

Gameplay / Cool Mechanics

Let’s cut straight to it—Petty Officer is a 5-drop with Assault, meaning it gets an extra +1 power while attacking.

So, when it swings, you’re effectively getting a 6|5 body for five cost. That’s efficient, even if it doesn’t come with keywords like “Elusive” or “Rush.”

It trades cleanly with most 4- and 5-drops, forces value out of trades, and applies solid pressure in tempo mirrors.

The real deal here is simplicity. In a meta full of reactive spells, hidden tricks, and battlefield-specific play windows, sometimes it pays to just drop a pirate and start swinging.

Petty Officer fits in aggro-leaning Bilgewater lists that don’t want to wait for setup pieces like Ship Cannon Crew or Reaver’s Rally.

It’s plug-and-play muscle—especially in builds that want to keep the heat up turn after turn.

Visuals

The card art does a perfect job of selling its energy. Petty Officer is mid-leap, knife raised, eyes locked on the kill.

The framing pushes him forward—his head breaking the boundary of the crow’s nest, giving you the feeling he’s jumping straight off the card.

Behind him, the chaos of Bilgewater unfolds: rigging, ships, and background figures that all fade in motion blur as this tiny terror launches himself like a cannonball.

Six More Vodka absolutely nails the pirate menace vibe.

Pull Rate & Value Speculation

Petty Officer is card 215/298, and there’s no current confirmation of a foil or alt-art version—yet.

It reads like an uncommon, though the aggressive statline could mean it ends up a low-tier rare to keep aggro decks from becoming too consistent in sealed formats.

In terms of collector value, it’s unlikely to be a centerpiece unless a foil version with a more unhinged art variant drops later in the season.

Still, for competitive Bilgewater players, Petty Officer feels like a three-of.

It might not win games solo, but it absolutely turns trades in your favor and pressures life totals hard once you’re ahead on board.

Petty Officer is the kind of card you overlook until it’s slicing through your midrange wincon with a +1 power bonus and no remorse.

If Bilgewater sticks around the meta, this guy’s getting sleeves.
