Blast of Power from Riftbound TCG

Blast of Power
Spread the love

Blast of Power is one of those spells that tells you exactly what it does and doesn’t apologize for it.

This is your clean answer, your mid-to-late game breaker, your emergency button.

Six cost is no joke, but when you absolutely, positively need something gone from a battlefield, this card just does it. No trade. No counter. Just—gone.

In Riftbound, that kind of direct removal at battlefield scope feels like a stabilizer.

Especially with all the mobility and unit shuffling the game encourages, sometimes you just need a final word. Blast of Power is it.

Gameplay / Cool Mechanics

It’s simple: Kill a unit at a battlefield. But “simple” doesn’t mean weak.

This isn’t tied to an attack, doesn’t require you to win a clash, and it’s not a reaction. This is a main-phase flex or a showdown closer.

You play it, you delete a unit. Big stat-stick? Gone. Combo enabler? Gone. That champ they’ve been buffing for three turns? Bye.

The catch is timing. Because it’s an Action, Blast of Power can’t interrupt enemy plays. But it can control the tempo hard on your own turn.

Think of it like a hammer in a game full of daggers.

It won’t be splashable in every list—six cost puts it out of range for aggro decks—but midrange and control will eat this up, especially in metas with sticky champs or bulky frontline gear setups.

Visuals

The art brings the name to life. It’s pure force. A shadowed figure lets loose twin lances of golden energy, arcing forward in an X-pattern, tearing through the blue of the sky behind them.

The light blooms out from their arms in this exaggerated explosive arc, like it’s burning through whatever dares stand in its way.

The body posture screams momentum. The whole thing feels like the exact frame before something explodes. Clean silhouette, max energy, all focused on that single brutal moment.

Pull Rate & Value Speculation

Blast of Power is card 012 out of 024 in the Riftbound preview wave. No rarity marker on this one yet, but given the power and cost, it’s likely a rare or even super rare.

Cards like this often get foil treatments in sets built for constructed formats, especially if they’re removal staples.

If the full set introduces battlefield-specific synergies or units that stack value over turns, expect Blast of Power to become one of those quiet high-demand singles.

Not flashy in function, but always needed. Don’t be surprised if a foil version ends up a chase card in limited print runs.
