Stupefy is Riot’s answer to cheap, flexible disruption in Riftbound. As a one-energy blue spell, it sits comfortably in reactive shells and tempo-oriented lists alike.
Whether you need a surprise chump block, want to soften up an attacker, or simply dig for your next play, Stupefy fits seamlessly into Blue’s toolkit.
Gameplay / Cool Mechanics
On resolution, Stupefy gives any unit –1 Power (to a minimum of 1 Power) for the turn, then lets you draw one card.
That seemingly modest drain can turn lethal trades into standoffs, buy a point of damage prevention, or force through an extra damage point when timing matters most.
Drawing a card after softening a threat ensures you don’t fall behind on resources, a common pitfall in reactive Blue decks.
Timing is everything: with Reaction, Stupefy can be cast in the middle of combat, late in the opponent’s turn, or even in showdown phases.
You can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat by weakening a favorite attacker, or lock down a key blocker to push through damage.
In aggressive or tempo builds, the card draw keeps your hand stocked while offering defensive flexibility. It’s a true two-for-one in a slot where most options are single-use.
Visuals
Kudos Productions captures the “stun” effect perfectly. A figure’s skull meets a cartoon-ish starburst, stars and swirling colors exploding from the impact point.
The jade green concentric circles behind the blow heighten the sense of disorientation.
Sharp lines and high contrast emphasize both the violence and the slapstick humor—oui to the idea that a concussive jolt can reshape an exchange in your favor.

Market Insight: Widespread inclusion in control, tempo-Blue, and any deck splashing Blue for reactive tools means Stupefy will be a staple. Expect solid demand on the secondary market, especially for playsets in foil.
Stupefy delivers punch-for-punch value. It’s rarely the flashiest play, but it’s exactly the tool you’ll reach for when precision timing and resource efficiency matter most.
